The schedule aligns with both APGA’s constitution and the calendar of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC).
The party said the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will run from January 27 to February 6 at APGA’s Awka Regional Secretariat.
Screening of chairmanship and councillorship aspirants will follow from February 7 to 11 across all 21 local government areas and 326 wards.
Appeals arising from the screening process are scheduled for February 13, with ward congresses to elect councillorship candidates and ad-hoc delegates taking place on February 14.
The chairmanship primary election will be held on February 15, while any appeals arising from the primaries will be addressed on February 16, all in Awka.
APGA set the cost of chairmanship forms at N6 million and councillorship forms at N600,000, with female aspirants and persons with disabilities paying half of these amounts.
All payments are non-refundable, and the party noted that the dates may be adjusted if necessary.
Opara urged prospective candidates to strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines and electoral regulations, stressing the importance of compliance to ensure a smooth and transparent primary process.
“The schedule is designed to provide equal opportunity for all aspirants while ensuring the integrity of the process,” he said.
