PDP South-West Ex-Publicity Secretary Ayo Fadaka Resigns

Ayo Fadaka, former PDP South-West Publicity Secretary, resigns citing persistent party crises, as APC and ADC reportedly seek to recruit him

Akure, Ondo State Ayo Fadaka, former Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West and erstwhile Director of Media and Publicity in Ondo State, resigned from the party on Thursday, citing persistent crises and mismanagement by opportunistic leaders.

Fadaka, in a letter addressed to the Ward 8 chairman in Akure and copied to the Akure South Local Government, as well as the Ondo State and South-West PDP chairmen, described his decision as a difficult but necessary step to dissociate from the party’s current state.

“The PDP is a victim of ill-bred individuals who rose to lofty heights through it and mercilessly turned against it. Another thriving group treats the party merely as a meal ticket, ready to compromise its interests without conscience,” the letter read.

The former party official stated that the once-proud opposition has been decimated by internal opportunism, eroding the integrity and purpose that once made it one of Africa’s largest political parties.

While Fadaka did not confirm his next political affiliation, reports indicate that he is being actively courted by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Party analysts note that Fadaka’s exit underscores growing internal dissent within the PDP in the South-West, raising questions about the party’s cohesion ahead of future elections.
