Ajibola Basiru made the remarks during an appearance on TVC’s Beyond The Headlines, where he addressed questions about Wike’s political alignment and the performance of the FCT administration.
Ajibola Basiru clarified that although Nyesom Wike is not formally affiliated with the APC, the minister serves under an APC-led federal government headed by President Tinubu. Ajibola Basiru argued that the minister’s record in office has had a measurable political impact.
According to Ajibola Basiru, extensive infrastructural development across the Federal Capital Territory over the past two and a half years significantly strengthened the party’s position in the recent FCT local government elections.
“When you see the massive infrastructural development that has occurred in the FCT, not only in the urban areas but even in the suburbs, you will discover that the sterling performance of the FCT Minister contributed to the APC’s victory,” Ajibola Basiru said.
Ajibola Basiru further credited the party’s strategic engagement and what he described as the careful selection of credible candidates from diverse political backgrounds as decisive factors in the electoral outcome.
