Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Dan Ulasi, a prominent political figure within Nigeria’s opposition space, in Abuja, Nigeria, asserted that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi stands a strong chance of winning the 2027 presidential election.

Dan Ulasi stated that Peter Obi has more than a 60 per cent likelihood of becoming President of Nigeria, a claim that has drawn attention amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the next general elections.

The remarks, which form part of what is being discussed as the Ulasi Peter Obi 2027 chance assessment, were made while Ulasi analysed the emerging political relationship between Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Ulasi described the developing alliance as part of broader efforts to build national bridges across Nigeria’s political landscape, noting that both figures command significant influence in their respective regions.

He emphasised that Peter Obi remains a major political force in the South, while Rabiu Kwankwaso holds substantial sway in the North, suggesting that a collaboration between both politicians could reshape the country’s political direction.

Ulasi argued that such an alignment, if successful, could contribute to what he described as a new era of development and national progress.

He added that political zoning considerations and historical regional power shifts continue to shape expectations ahead of 2027.

According to him, discussions around power rotation between the North and South remain central to Nigeria’s political discourse, reinforcing the strategic importance of alliances such as that between Obi and Kwankwaso.
