Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege is a prominent Nigerian lawyer and politician with a distinguished career in public service.

Born in 1963 in Delta State, he earned a Law degree from the University of Benin and a Master’s from Tulane University Law School, establishing a successful legal practice before venturing into politics.

His political journey began with roles as Executive Assistant to the Governor and Commissioner for Special Duties in Delta State, culminating in his election as Senator for Delta Central Senatorial District in 2015.

He notably served as the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate from 2019 to 2023.

Omo-Agege is highly regarded for his impactful legislative work, particularly his efforts in championing the establishment and development of key federal educational institutions in Delta State, including the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, and the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale.

His tenure is marked by significant human and infrastructural development, solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader and advocate for his constituents.
