Tinubu support for Oyebamiji strengthens APC campaign ahead of Osun’s August 15, 2026 governorship election
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his backing for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15, 2026 off-cycle election.

Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, disclosed this after a meeting with the President in Abuja, describing the engagement as productive and encouraging as preparations intensify for the crucial poll.
The APC flagbearer was accompanied by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.
In a statement shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, Oyebamiji expressed appreciation for President Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to progressive governance.
Oyebamiji said the meeting strengthened his resolve to promote party unity and deliver sustainable development if elected.
“As we prepare for the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, I am strengthened by Mr President’s enduring belief in my capacity and in the principles of responsible leadership and development,” Oyebamiji stated.
The APC candidate added that the President’s national economic renewal agenda would serve as a guiding framework for his plans in Osun State.
He pledged to focus on people-centred policies and long-term economic stability.
Oyebamiji also promised to consolidate unity within the party, deepen grassroots engagement and present what he described as a clear and actionable blueprint to reposition the state for sustainable growth.

The August 15 governorship election is expected to test the APC’s cohesion in Osun as parties intensify campaigns across the state.
