The President, who arrived in Lafia to a rousing welcome, commissioned several high-impact infrastructure projects and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting subnational growth.
Among the projects commissioned was the flagship Jos Road flyover and underpass, now officially named the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interchange.
The President praised the state’s economic discipline and infrastructure vision, saying, “It is a great honour for me to be here, feeling at home, feeling very welcomed, and to inaugurate this project.
I salute the prudent management of resources, the commitment to value, and the vision demonstrated by the governor of our dear state.”
Governor Sule attributed the project’s completion without loans to President Tinubu’s reform policies.
“It is because of your reforms that we were able to fund this project completely — 100 percent — without borrowing a single naira,” he said.
The President also commissioned the new state secretariat complex and addressed women leaders in the state, praising their resilience and contributions.
He acknowledged the work of the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman, whom he described as a champion for gender development.
In further efforts to strengthen the state’s logistics and security infrastructure, Tinubu launched the distribution of electric vehicles, tractors, and equipment meant for traditional institutions and enforcement agencies.

Additionally, he inaugurated the Uthman Dan Fodio Cargo Airport, aimed at enhancing Nasarawa’s position in regional trade and connectivity.
During a town hall meeting at the Government House, the President described Nasarawa as a true reflection of Nigeria’s unity and diversity.
“Nasarawa reflects the spirit of our national anthem — diverse people, culture, and prosperity.
I am proud to be here. We’ve turned a corner as a nation. We’ve cut waste. The economy is stabilising,” he said.
Tinubu also used the occasion to express political solidarity with Governor Sule, urging residents to disregard the opposition, whom he labelled “political IDPs.”
According to him, “They triggered alley politics and coalition partitions. Don’t give them attention.
This is your home — Sule is doing well. Whoever he brings forward, we’ll support for greater prosperity and renaissance in Nasarawa State.”
Governor Sule expressed his gratitude for Tinubu’s support and reform agenda, which he said has increased state revenue and empowered state governments to deliver concrete development.
He highlighted the positive impact of subsidy removal and forex liberalisation on Nasarawa’s economy.
Concluding his remarks, Governor Sule called on the President to mandate the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited to resume oil exploration in Obi Local Government Area, where over one billion barrels of hydrocarbon reserves have been discovered.
