According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s first stop will be Victor Attah International Airport, where he is expected to inaugurate three major facilities.
They include the newly constructed International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village.
Other projects scheduled for inauguration include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, and Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
The President will also commission the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
The projects are expected to strengthen transportation infrastructure, improve connectivity between communities and support the state’s aviation, tourism and security development objectives.
Ahead of the visit, Governor Umo Eno declared Friday a work-free day to enable civil servants and other residents to participate in the presidential reception.
The governor had also inspected several of the projects ahead of the inauguration, describing the President’s visit as an opportunity to showcase infrastructure delivered by his administration.
Beyond the project inaugurations, Tinubu’s visit will include political engagements, with the President expected to attend an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Akwa Ibom.
The visit comes amid preparations for the 2027 general elections, as the ruling party intensifies political mobilisation across different parts of the country.
After completing his engagements in Akwa Ibom, Tinubu is expected to travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday, 7 November, to participate in another APC rally.
The Rivers rally will be his third major campaign appearance since the party commenced its presidential re-election mobilisation with a rally in Kaduna last month.
The two-state visit therefore combines official infrastructure engagements with political activities, bringing the President into contact with state officials, party leaders, supporters and other stakeholders in the South-South region.
