Timi Frank Warns Nigeria Over Alleged Plot to Delist ADC Ahead of 2027 Poll

Timi Frank has warned of an alleged plot to delist the ADC ahead of the 2027 election, urging Nigerians and INEC to safeguard democracy

Former Deputy Spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has alleged that there is a fresh plot to remove the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from the ballot ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning that any such move could destabilise Nigeria’s democratic system.

Frank made the allegation in a statement on Monday, 29 June 2026, where he claimed that the opposition party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, were being targeted through coordinated political and legal actions.

He warned that any attempt to exclude the ADC from the electoral process would be strongly resisted by Nigerians and could push the country into political instability.

“We have been reliably informed of a fresh plot to use the judiciary and INEC to remove the ADC from the ballot come 2027. The ADC has always been the main target,” Frank said.

According to him, the alleged objective is to weaken opposition participation in the next general election, which he described as a threat to Nigeria’s democratic credibility.

Frank urged Nigerians to remain alert, insisting that there is an emerging pattern of efforts aimed at suppressing opposition voices ahead of the polls.

“I urge Nigerians to take this warning seriously because a new twist in this plot will soon surface,” he said.

He further alleged that state institutions were being pressured to act against opposition parties, warning that such actions could undermine public confidence in the electoral system.

Frank also called on the international community to monitor developments closely, arguing that Nigeria’s democratic reputation could be at risk if opposition parties are excluded from the ballot.

“The current administration has thrown decorum to the wind and appears determined to use state institutions against the opposition,” he added.

He warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the judiciary against becoming entangled in political disputes, insisting that accountability would follow any perceived compromise.

Frank’s remarks come shortly after Atiku Abubakar also alleged a plot to frustrate the ADC’s participation in the 2027 elections, signalling growing tension within Nigeria’s early election discourse.

The claims follow recent legal developments, including a court ruling in Lokoja that set aside an earlier judgment related to the registration of the party, further fuelling political debate around its status.
