The appeal was made during a two-day advocacy and courtesy visit to security agencies, paramilitary formations and major institutions across the state, aimed at strengthening collaboration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Voter registration exercise in Taraba State , according to Dr Idris, is currently in its Phase III, which commenced on May 11 and is scheduled to run until July 10, 2026.

He urged security agencies to utilise their platforms to educate residents on the importance of voter registration and the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that active participation remains essential for credible elections.

Dr Idris also highlighted the role of security agencies under the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), describing them as vital to election planning, coordination and safety.

During engagements with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the REC called for stronger collaboration in voter education, civic awareness and public enlightenment, noting the key role of corps members in election duties.

On the second day of the visit, Dr Idris met with officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Fire Service, the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Jalingo, and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
