Abdullahi Sule thanks God he is not among APC governors Nyesom Wike accused of fighting the Rainbow Coalition
Abdullahi Sule, Governor of Nasarawa State, said on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, that he was grateful not to be among the All Progressives Congress governors named by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike as opponents in the fight over the Rainbow Coalition.

Sule spoke in an interview on TVC about the quarrel inside the ruling party ahead of the 2027 election.
On Monday Wike listed three APC governors he said were fighting him: Hope Uzodimma of Imo, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun.
“Thank God I’m not on that list. I feel relieved that I’m not on Wike’s list of APC governors fighting the Rainbow Coalition,” Sule said.
He noted that Wike is a minister in the Tinubu government but not a member of the APC. “Wike is one of the ministers in this administration, and if he says he wants to support President Tinubu from another party, remember he’s not an APC member. What’s the whole essence of an alliance? I think the Governors’ Forum message was misunderstood.”

The remarks keep Sule outside the public clash while restating the awkward fact of the coalition: a non-APC minister driving an alliance meant to protect an APC president, and sitting governors arguing over who is allowed to define loyalty.
