South-East Shifts Support to APC, Agbakahi Says

South-East support APC grows, says George Agbakahi, citing 2023 election regrets and President Tinubu’s infrastructure and industrialisation efforts

George Agbakahi, Coordinator of the President Bola Tinubu Support Group, has said a growing number of residents in Nigeria’s South-East now back the All Progressives Congress, APC, citing regrets over the region’s voting pattern in the 2023 general elections.

Speaking on The Morning Show on Arise Television on Friday, Agbakahi said South-East residents are increasingly participating in APC activities and see the party as the preferred political platform.

He referenced the recent APC zonal congress held in Enugu, describing the event as well-attended by party stakeholders, members, and non-members, reflecting rising enthusiasm for the party in the region.

Agbakahi also commended President Bola Tinubu for significant developmental strides, particularly in infrastructure and industrialisation across the South-East.

“We in the South-East believe that we made a huge mistake in the last election in 2023. So, we now know the place to go. The place to go is APC. Majority of southeasterners, they believe in APC,” he said.

He added: “If you were in Enugu two days ago during the zonal congresses, it was filled with enthusiasm. Too many stakeholders, party faithfuls, even non-APC members attended. It was an awesome event. The President has done a whole lot for Nigerians and more especially in the South-East. Road construction, industrialisation—there is a lot going on.”
