The call comes after the Senate on Wednesday rejected a proposed amendment to Clause 60, Subsection 3, of the Electoral Amendment Bill, which would have mandated the electronic transmission of results during elections. Critics argue that the rejection raises concerns about electoral transparency ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Senator Natasha emphasized the importance of real-time transmission of results for the integrity of Nigeria’s democracy. She wrote, “I, Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, support the real-time Electronic Transmission of results. Failure of such stealth is a lethal assault on Nigeria’s democracy.”
