Speaking at the closing session of the two-day Progressive Governors’ Forum in Lagos on Saturday, Sanwo-Olu noted that the party’s leadership had grown from “barely 18 or 19” governors to 25, reflecting Nigerians’ trust in the APC’s vision.
“We are now 25 progressive governors. When we began, we were barely 18 or 19. This growth shows that Nigerians trust our party’s direction,” he said, commending his colleagues for their dedication to national development and loyalty to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Sanwo-Olu praised the forum participants for their unity and cultural representation, describing the meeting as a strong demonstration of “unity in diversity.”
He highlighted the importance of cultural engagement, noting Lagos will host its first cultural festival in nearly a decade on December 27, with about 10,000 residents expected to participate.
The forum also addressed key national issues, particularly security and welfare, and agreed to submit collective recommendations to the president.
“For the past 12 hours, we have asked ourselves tough questions: How do we better the lives of our people? How do we support our president and strengthen our country by supporting the national agenda?” Sanwo-Olu said.
Reaffirming loyalty to President Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu described him as “a father, leader and humble statesman” and pledged the forum’s continued support to ensure the government succeeds.
He also assured Lagos residents that the state would remain committed to delivering results across all sectors.
