Reps Back Agbeyewa Farms Ekiti, Pledge Govt Support

Ekiti Reps praise Agbeyewa Farms Ekiti and Ikogosi Resort, pledging government support for agriculture and private sector investment in the state’s development

Agbeyewa Farms Ekiti and the revitalized Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort have earned high praise from members of the Ekiti State Caucus in the House of Representatives, who pledged to advocate for stronger government support for agriculture and tourism in the state.

Led by Hon. Femi Bamisile, the lawmakers—including Rufus Ojuawo, Olusola Fatoba, and David Akinlayo—toured the flagship investments of Cavista Holdings during a recent site visit.

They were received by the leadership of Cavista Holdings, including Olumide Olayomi (Vice President/Executive Director), Lanre Balogun (General Manager, Glocient Hospitality), and Seyi Aiyeleso (MD/CEO, Agbeyewa Farms).

At Agbeyewa Farms Ekiti, the delegation was visibly impressed by the scale and impact of the project.

The farm has emerged as a hub for food security, youth empowerment, and rural development in the region.

“I used to think I had a farm, but after visiting Agbeyewa, I realised I have a garden,” Ojuawo said, expressing awe at the innovation on display.

Hon. Bamisile, reflecting on his time in the United States, added:

“It baffles me that someone in his comfort zone abroad could choose to invest in agriculture here in Ekiti. This is more than giving back.”

Akinlayo, whose constituency is home to Agbeyewa’s chairman, John Olajide, called the experience humbling and pledged to sponsor 100 youths for agricultural training at the farm.

The team also toured the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort, now managed by Glocient Hospitality, a Cavista Holdings subsidiary. Once struggling, the resort has undergone a significant transformation.

“Ikogosi was almost lost to decay, but Glocient has turned it around. Kudos to John Olajide and his team,” Ojuawo said.

Fatoba praised both the state government and Cavista’s leadership for driving sustainable development in Ekiti.

“We commend Governor Abiodun Oyebanji and John Olajide for their commitment. As lawmakers, we will push for federal support to back these private-sector initiatives,” he assured.
