Speaking at a press conference in Abuja alongside other opposition leaders, Obi stressed that opposition voices must consistently demonstrate unity to reassure Nigerians of a collective effort to rescue the country.
“It’s critical that we repeat it as often as we can so that Nigerians will know we are together. There’s a very urgent need for all opposition parties, including those not here today, to come together to save our dear country,” Obi said.
Obi described the present government as “the worst ever in our dear country, Nigeria,” highlighting what he called a collapse across the legislative, executive, and judicial arms of government.
He claimed insecurity has reached alarming levels, citing recent incidents in Kebbi, Zamfara, and Adamawa.
He also criticised the nation’s economy, arguing that poverty has worsened in the past two and a half years, with debt accumulation surpassing all administrations since 1999 combined.
Obi expressed concern over rising food insecurity, declining local production, and struggling manufacturers.
