PDP Declares Bello Dalhat Winner of Kano Gubernatorial Primary

PDP declares Muhammad Bello Dalhat winner of Kano governorship primary after defeating Muhammad Sani Abacha ahead of 2027 elections

The Peoples Democratic Party, Peoples Democratic Party, has declared Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dalhat winner of its governorship primary election in Kano State after a closely contested race.

The announcement was made following the party’s primary election, where Dalhat defeated fellow aspirant Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abacha, son of former Head of State, Sani Abacha.

According to results declared by the election committee chairman, Hon. Umar Danjani Hadejia, Dalhat secured a total of 2,233 votes to emerge victorious in the contest.

His closest rival, Sani Abacha, polled 749 votes in the primary election, falling short of the required majority.

The committee officially declared Dalhat as the party’s governorship candidate for Kano State after confirming his lead in the final tally.

“With the total votes recorded, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dalhat scored the highest number of votes and is hereby declared winner and the PDP governorship candidate for Kano State,” the committee statement said.

The primary election is part of wider political preparations across the country as parties position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Political activities have continued to gather momentum in several states as aspirants vie for party tickets in key governorship contests.
