Governor Oyebanji, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant and Chief of Staff under former Governor Niyi Adebayo, and as Secretary to the Government under former Governor Kayode Fayemi, has reinforced governance structures while building on the legacies of his predecessors.
His administration has fostered unity, encouraged returning indigenes to contribute ideas, and prioritised grassroots engagement.
The governor has advanced employment and income generation by identifying local industries and markets capable of creating sustainable opportunities for youths.
He has also focused on agribusiness, strengthening the processing of staple and cash crops to enhance food security and non-oil export capacity.
In healthcare, Oyebanji inaugurated a Pharma-Grade Warehouse at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, increasing the Drug Management Agency’s monthly revenue from N28 million to N75 million.
The project has broadened access to essential medicines, raising primary healthcare coverage to 80 per cent, with secondary and tertiary facilities achieving full coverage.
Educational reforms have included extending teachers’ retirement ages, boosting allowances for science educators and heads of departments, and rewarding outstanding teachers with cash incentives.
Investments in curricula and learning environments aim to equip students for a knowledge-driven economy.
Infrastructure improvements remain prominent, with projects such as the 21-kilometre Ikere-Ilawe road and renovated hospitals in Ilawe and Okemesi showcasing tangible progress.
Indigenous contractors have been engaged extensively, earning commendations from Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo and Ondo State Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
With next year’s governorship election approaching, Oyebanji seeks a renewed mandate.
