Wale Oladipo, declaring the controversy a “family dispute” within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) being addressed internally.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, described both leaders as “deeply loyal and committed stakeholders” in the current administration.

“By whatever yardstick, the Government still reposes strong confidence in \[Adewusi] as the second in command to the Governor,” the statement read.

Tensions had escalated following a vote of no confidence passed on Adewusi, Prof. Oladipo, and the PDP chairman of Ife East LG, Olasunkanmi Makinde, by 39 PDP leaders in Ife Federal Constituency.

They were accused of fraternising with the defected House of Reps member Bimbo Ajilesoro, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Two current Osun commissioners, Biyi Odunlade (Political Affairs) and Dipo Eluwole (Education), signed the communiqué backing the sanctions.

Despite the tensions, the Osun State Government emphasized that the political disagreement is internal and under control, urging all factions to “sheath their swords” and allow party mechanisms to resolve grievances.

The statement further reaffirmed that Prof. Wale Oladipo retains his positions as:

“Not for once has the integrity and strong loyalty of the duo been in doubt,” the statement added.

Sunday Bisi, the state PDP chairman, had earlier intervened by calling on all parties to halt actions that could escalate the situation.

He assured that the PDP leadership is addressing the matter through peaceful dialogue.
