Obasa announced his decision on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Agege, Lagos, where he stated that APC leaders in the area had encouraged him to join the race for the federal legislative position.
The Obasa Agege House of Representatives bid is expected to heighten political activities in the constituency as aspirants intensify consultations and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the primaries.
During the meeting, Obasa also appealed to party members and stakeholders to support the aspiration of former Agege Local Government Chairman, Ganiyu Egunjobi, who is contesting for Agege Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
He further endorsed Azeez Oladapo Yusuf Ninolowo for the Agege Constituency II seat, signalling early alignment among party stakeholders ahead of the internal elections.
