Ned Nwoko APC primary defeat sparks reactions as the senator shares videos of supporters following controversial voting results
Nigerian senator and politician Ned Nwoko has responded to widespread reactions surrounding his reported loss at the All Progressives Congress, APC, Delta North primary election by sharing videos of large crowds he described as his “organic supporters”.

The controversy began after a viral video from the APC primary election showed officials physically counting supporters for former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Ned Nwoko during the exercise.
According to the footage circulating online, supporters of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa reportedly numbered 6,922, while Senator Ned Nwoko was shown with only a handful of visible supporters, triggering sharp reactions across social media.
In what appeared to be a direct response to the backlash, Ned Nwoko posted videos showing a massive crowd gathered in support of him during the primaries.
“They came out in numbers, stood firmly by me, and made their voices heard in a way that leaves no room for doubt,” the senator wrote.
In another post, Ned Nwoko insisted the supporters seen in the videos were genuine and not mobilised for optics.
“Organic supports by the people of Anioma from various wards for Delta North APC primaries on Monday May 18th 2026,” he stated.
The videos, however, sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users questioning how the visible crowd support translated into the reported primary outcome.
Some commenters mocked the senator, while others congratulated the eventual winner and urged calm amid the growing debate.
One social media user questioned how such a crowd resulted in only a few recorded votes, while another dismissed the gathering as a “rented crowd”.
The development has kept Ned Nwoko in the spotlight amid ongoing public attention surrounding both his political career and personal life.
Earlier this month, the senator publicly celebrated the mothers of his children, including actress Regina Daniels, praising their sacrifices and commitment to family.
Ned Nwoko had also recently attended his sons’ inaugural school gala in Abuja, describing the occasion as a proud moment for his family.
The senator’s marriage to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has also remained a subject of public discussion following reports last year that the actress ended the relationship over allegations of domestic violence.
Ned Nwoko denied the claims and alleged that tensions in the marriage were linked to Regina Daniels’ struggles with substance abuse, accusations that generated intense public debate online.
