The scholarship programme, known as Lanre Ojelabi Scholarship Initiative 2.0, will cover the cost of senior secondary school certificate examinations for 100 students across the city.

The initiative includes funding for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO) tests.

Speaking to supporters, Ojelabi highlighted the foundation’s focus on providing fair and equitable opportunities for talented students who lack financial access.

“In Nigeria, we do not lack talent or intelligence; what we lack is access,” he said.

“Our scholarship initiative is intended to give these students the access they need to succeed.”

The initiative will engage with administrators in 18 schools across Abeokuta to encourage eligible students to apply.

Volunteers of the foundation are preparing to present proposals and educate school officials on the programme’s goals.

Ojelabi also appealed for public support to expand the foundation’s impact.

Contributions can be made via GoFundMe, Interac transfers in Canada, or the foundation’s Fidelity Bank account in Nigeria.

“The little we can do, we will do,” he said, urging donors to help provide opportunities for young Nigerians to excel.
