The Kwankwasiyya Movement accuses APC of violent attacks and intimidation against its members during lawful gatherings in Kano State

The incident occurred as members of the movement gathered to formally receive defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the NNPP. According to the movement’s spokesperson, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, armed APC thugs disrupted the event, injuring more than 11 people, including high-profile politicians and local party leaders.

Dr. Mohammed stated that the attackers also vandalized and destroyed vehicles and other property belonging to the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

He described the attacks as premeditated and aimed at intimidating the growing support for the movement in Kano State.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement condemned the acts, highlighting previous similar attacks in Tudun Wada and Doguwa, and criticized what they described as state-enabled political violence under the banner of the “Kano First” slogan.

The movement affirmed its commitment to peace and lawful democratic engagement, vowing not to be silenced by threats or violence.

They are documenting incidents for submission to security agencies and democratic institutions for necessary action.
