The APC has affirmed Governor Nasir Idris as its governorship candidate for the 2027 Kebbi election during a primary held in Birnin Kebbi
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has formally affirmed Governor Nasir Idris as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.

The affirmation took place on Thursday during the party’s governorship primary held at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, where delegates and stakeholders from across the state gathered for the exercise.
Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee and former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Abdulmalik Mahmud, announced the affirmation of Idris as the party’s flag bearer after the process was concluded.
Mahmud stated that the committee was mandated to oversee the primary and confirm the decision of party members across the state.
Governor Idris, in his acceptance remarks, expressed appreciation to APC leaders, stakeholders, and former governors for their support during the process.
He pledged to continue delivering development projects across Kebbi State if re-elected in 2027, assuring party members of sustained progress under his leadership.
The event was attended by delegates drawn from all 225 political wards in the state, alongside former governors and other key party figures who witnessed the affirmation exercise.

The APC described the process as orderly and reflective of broad consensus within the party structure in Kebbi State.
