Kafilat Ogbara snubs Dele Oshinowo at a Lagos event after losing the APC primary for Kosofe Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 elections
A member of the House of Representatives, Kafilat Ogbara, has attracted attention after declining to shake hands with Dele Oshinowo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate who defeated her in the party’s primary for Kosofe Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.

The encounter occurred at the inaugural Seyi Tinubu Colloquium in Lagos when Oshinowo, a former Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, approached the lawmaker and extended his hand in greeting.
However, Ogbara remained seated and turned away rather than reciprocating the gesture.
In a video of the incident, the lawmaker was heard acknowledging Oshinowo before making her position clear.
“Well done, how are you? I cannot shake you,” she said.
Oshinowo reacted animatedly before walking away from the encounter.
The incident has attracted attention against the backdrop of the political contest between the two APC figures over the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat.
Oshinowo emerged as the party’s candidate in May 2026, defeating Ogbara in the primary ahead of the 2027 general election.
His victory marked a significant development in the contest for the constituency, which Ogbara currently represents in the House of Representatives.
The two politicians have also been linked to previous political disagreements, including disputes in 2025 concerning the demolition of the Owode-Onirin market.
Their latest public encounter has renewed attention on the political tensions surrounding the Kosofe constituency following the APC primary.
Oshinowo is expected to represent the APC in the constituency at the 2027 general election, subject to the relevant electoral processes.
