Ayuba, who was the PDP’s 2023 deputy governorship candidate in Kaduna, confirmed his resignation on Monday, citing national-level mismanagement and anti-party actions.
In a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Ungwan Gaiya, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Ayuba expressed deep frustration with the party’s internal handling of post-election matters.
“It is with a heavy heart that I write to convey my difficult decision to resign my membership of our erstwhile great party,” the letter read.
He accused senior stakeholders of undermining the party’s presidential campaign through inaction and political sabotage.
Ayuba added that the PDP leadership had failed to take corrective steps months after the elections, leaving loyal members like him demoralised and disillusioned.
“I have, over the last three years, watched with great concern the mismanagement of the future of our party by those who do not mean well,” he said.
Ayuba’s exit followed extensive consultations with supporters and political allies.
He emphasised that remaining in the PDP was no longer tenable.
While appreciating the party for the platform it provided, he said his move to the ADC reflects a decision to work with a more focused political structure.
