Fayose described Fubara as largely unknown three years ago, warning that the governor should not challenge Wike’s influence.
“You don’t know Fubara three years ago. You never heard of a Fubara three years ago,” Fayose said, highlighting the importance of recognising the role mentors and political leaders play in an individual’s rise.
Fayose stressed the distinction between holding office and wielding influence, adding that Fubara should manage the situation respectfully.
“Even if Wike said he’s the leader, it is not for Governor Fubara to be contesting that,” he explained.
He further noted that recognition and respect in politics stem from those who give life and opportunities, urging Fubara to emulate humility rather than engage in unnecessary power struggles.
