Speaking on Arise TV’s *Prime Time* on Tuesday night, he expressed openness to stepping aside if necessary.
“I would like Peter Obi to win the nomination of Labour Party and contest in 2027, with or without me,” he said.
While reacting to reports suggesting he might be moving to the African Democratic Congress, Baba-Ahmed dismissed the idea.
“My own thinking is that you should convince me why I should go to ADC.
Where was ADC in 2023 when Labour Party got 10 million votes? I’m yet to be convinced to leave LP.”
He emphasised his loyalty to the Labour Party, stating that its platform remains open to Peter Obi and others who share its vision.
