Daniel Onjeh Withdraws From APC Senatorial Primary

Daniel Onjeh has withdrawn from the APC senatorial primary in Benue South, citing concerns over the conduct of the party’s selection process

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, has withdrawn from the Benue South Senatorial Primary ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Onjeh announced his decision in a video statement on Monday, citing what he described as irregularities and concerns over the conduct of the exercise.

He said the decision followed careful reflection on developments within the party’s primary process in Benue South.

The former senatorial candidate described the move as difficult but necessary, adding that recent events made his continued participation untenable.

Onjeh also reflected on his role in the formation and growth of the APC in the senatorial district, noting his grassroots mobilisation efforts during the early days of the party.

He said he moved across communities to campaign for the party and support its establishment at the local level.

According to him, despite years of commitment and loyalty, recent experiences have left him disappointed with how the process has unfolded.

“I humbly wish to announce my withdrawal from the Benue South Senatorial Primary due to the undemocratic conduct of the process,” he said.
