Speaking in Lagos, George said a potential alliance between Atiku and Obi would not be enough to defeat Tinubu. He claimed the coalition joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was born out of personal ambitions and may collapse once those ambitions fail.
“Atiku knows he cannot get the PDP ticket again because it is the South’s turn,” George stated. “That’s why he pushed for a coalition to the ADC.”
He appealed to former PDP members now in other parties to return to their roots. “Can you leave your father’s house because it is leaking and become a tenant elsewhere?” he asked.
George reminded listeners that the PDP helped build the careers of many defectors. “This same party mentored you to become whoever you are today,” he added.
He reaffirmed that in line with the PDP’s founding principles, it is the South’s turn to present a presidential candidate in 2027.
