Atiku Abubakar 2027 Presidential Run: Vows to Upstage Status Quo in Stunning Comeback

Atiku Abubakar confirms 2027 presidential run, vows to upstage status quo and rescue Nigeria from unprecedented thievery and degeneration under current administration

Atiku Abubakar 2027 presidential run is now officially confirmed as the former Vice President emphatically declares his intention to contest Nigeria’s top job in 2027.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Tunde Olusunle, Atiku disowned rumors that he might skip the race, reaffirming his commitment to rescue the nation from the “intensive care unit” it currently occupies under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Despite efforts by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to downplay the growing momentum of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, Atiku insisted the opposition movement will shock the world by upstaging the status quo in a way that will leave doubters “dumbstruck.”

“The accompanying deceit, the loss of values, the mega-scale, unimpeded thievery and the absolute lack of accountability must disturb every concerned patriot,” Olusunle quoted Atiku as saying.

“I will be offering myself to lead the reclamation and reconstruction of our traumatised homeland.”

Atiku, who until recently was a key figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has positioned the ADC as a third-force alternative designed to break the longstanding dominance of the APC and PDP.

The coalition is already drawing heavyweight politicians and mobilizing Nigerians eager for change.

Addressing recent claims that he might not run in 2027, Atiku firmly rejected such insinuations, emphasizing that his desire to rebuild Nigeria far outweighs any personal ambitions for power.

Notably, other prominent figures like former Anambra Governor Peter Obi and ex-Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi have also announced their intention to seek the ADC presidential ticket, intensifying the competition within the coalition.

However, a controversial statement reportedly made by Prof Ola Olateju, representing Atiku at a political event, suggesting Atiku was not obsessed with becoming president at all costs, was swiftly disowned by the former Vice President.

From his holiday home in the UAE, Atiku clarified, “I did not issue that statement… Prof Olateju was not speaking for me.”

He concluded, “I will run in 2027. Nigeria needs to be decisively rescued from the intensive care unit it has been consigned to. The degeneration in our country, the level of poverty and pain, the anguish, is unacceptable.”
