APC targets 10 million votes in South-West Nigeria for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election through voter mobilisation and continuous registration
Opeyemi Bamidele, Senate Leader and Chairman of the Ekiti APC 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council, announced on 9 March 2026 in Ado Ekiti that the All Progressives Congress aims to secure at least 10 million votes from the South-West region in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Bamidele made the disclosure during the inauguration of the 57-member governorship campaign council established to back the re-election campaign of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
He emphasised that the target will be achieved through extensive voter mobilisation and active participation in the Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
“The June 20 election will serve as a referendum to affirm and confirm the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Ekiti State.
As a party of conviction and vision, we have designed a mobilisation plan to deliver at least 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the six states of the South-West alone,” Bamidele said.
He urged party leaders and members to encourage residents to register as new voters and collect their Permanent Voter Cards to ensure they can exercise their suffrage in the forthcoming elections.
“With the future elections drawing closer by the day, we need to mobilise our members, neighbours and relations not just to register as new voters, but also collect their permanent voter cards so that they can exercise suffrage in support of our candidates in future elections,” Bamidele added.

Political analysts note that the APC’s ambitious target reflects the party’s strategy to consolidate its influence in the South-West and secure a strong mandate for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
