The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has officially endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas for another term, in a move political analysts describe as strategic for consolidating the party’s dominance in the state.

The endorsement was announced by the State Working Committee through its outgoing chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, as the committee prepares to hand over following the expiration of its tenure.
Officials hailed the moment as historic, marking APC’s transformation from opposition to the ruling party in Taraba.
Governor Kefas’ recent defection to APC has significantly shifted the political landscape in the state, with party leaders noting his integration has strengthened internal cohesion and stabilized the party during a potentially turbulent transition.
The State Working Committee highlighted the successful completion of congresses across all 168 wards and 16 local government areas, describing the exercises as peaceful and inclusive.
Taraba also ranked among the top performing states in APC’s electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise, which received backing from Governor Kefas.
The committee, in a formal resolution, cited the governor’s leadership style, commitment to development, and ability to unify party members as key reasons for endorsing him.
“With these milestones, Taraba State is now fully integrated and firmly established as an APC state,” the committee declared.

The endorsement is expected to empower Governor Kefas to consolidate ongoing projects, initiate new development programmes, and align residents with the national agenda by supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu alongside him.
