Governor Aiyedatiwa pledges Ondo’s full support for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election, citing unprecedented federal projects and economic reforms under his watch
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared full support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, describing the president’s economic reforms as unprecedented in Nigeria’s history.

The governor made the remarks during the weekend while addressing coordinators of ‘The Lucky Guy’ (TLG), a political support group mobilising at state, local, and ward levels in Akure.
According to Aiyedatiwa, Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has brought significant infrastructural developments and appointments to Ondo, warranting unwavering loyalty from the state.
He listed key federal interventions, including the dualisation of the Ore-Ondo-Akure road, the establishment of the Federal University of Technology Teaching Hospital, and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project passing through Ondo.
“We have no reason as a state not to give our utmost support to the re-election of Mr President in 2027,” he said.
“Ondo was among the states that gave him the highest vote percentage in 2023—69 percent. This time around, we are ready to do much more.”
Aiyedatiwa noted that the president’s economic reforms have improved revenues to states and increased federal presence in Ondo like never before.

He lauded the strategic support from the centre over the last two years as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive development.
The governor urged TLG members to stay sincere, loyal, and truthful as they spread the message of progress across communities.
He praised their innovation and passion, noting that their efforts transcend politics and contribute to the state’s long-term growth.
“You’re not just supporting a person,” Aiyedatiwa told them. “You’re pushing for a better Ondo State.”
The TLG convener, Hon. MoyinOlorun Ogunwumiju, pledged the group’s commitment to the governor’s leadership and readiness to spearhead grassroots mobilisation for the “Asiwaju Datiwa 2027 project.”
Director-General of Mobilisation, Muritala Suleiman, explained that the group was formed to harness youth loyalty and political energy in support of the governor and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
