SDP’s Adebayo Comments on Challenging Tinubu Ahead of 2027 Elections

Adewole Adebayo Tinubu 2027 defeat strategy explained as SDP candidate says anger won’t unseat President Tinubu, only issue-based politics will

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Adewole Adebayo, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, outlined what he described as a realistic Adewole Adebayo Tinubu 2027 defeat strategy ahead of the next presidential election.

Adebayo stated during an interview on Trust TV that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot be unseated through anger or political agitation alone, stressing that opposition forces must focus on substantive national issues.

He argued that only a clear presentation of governance failures and policy gaps would be effective in challenging the current administration at the polls.

According to him, the objective assessment of Nigeria’s current economic situation shows that many citizens are struggling under prevailing conditions, which he described as unsustainable.

SDP flagbearer noted that a significant number of Nigerians, including public sector workers, are finding it increasingly difficult to meet basic financial obligations due to economic pressures.

He further emphasised that meaningful political change would require issue-based engagement rather than emotional mobilisation.
