The All Progressives Congress faces divisions among aspirants, while the Peoples Democratic Party remains embroiled in internal crises, complicating Adeleke’s path to securing a nomination.
Even the African Democratic Congress, though appearing calm externally, faces pressure ahead of its primary.
Despite earlier public assurances that he would remain with the PDP, Adeleke has reportedly considered alternative platforms amid factional disputes between supporters aligned with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
The African Democratic Congress was briefly considered, but sources say the plan stalled due to internal party preferences for candidates aligned with former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance and Accord have also emerged as potential options for the governor, with discussions ongoing.
PDP National Vice Chairman, South-West, Kamoru Ajisafe, stated on Rave FM, Osogbo, that efforts are underway to determine the most viable platform before the INEC deadline.
Meanwhile, the Osun APC is experiencing heightened tensions, with up to 13 aspirants contesting the party ticket.
Two main blocs have emerged: one supporting former National Inland Waterways Authority Managing Director Bola Oyebamiji, and another backing former Deputy Governor Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Allegations and counter-allegations between these factions have surfaced, including claims of attempts to manipulate delegate lists and petitions questioning Omisore’s candidacy.
To mitigate potential post-primary crises, the APC Elder Caucus has urged aspirants to exercise patience and await the screening committee’s report before obtaining expression of interest forms.
Party leadership has also cautioned against misinformation and the influence of “fifth columnists” seeking to sow discord.
In the ADC, the process of selecting a governorship candidate appears smooth, according to the party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Oluwaseun Abosede.
He dismissed reports of disagreement between party leaders, saying the selection process is proceeding according to the party calendar.
