Adeleke spoke with newsmen shortly after being screened by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Osun State Governorship Screening Panel in Abuja.

“I’m so confident I’m going to win. If I could defeat an incumbent, and now that I’m the governor, within two years, it’s unprecedented what we have achieved. I’m so confident that nobody can beat us there,” Adeleke said.

He further expressed certainty that federal influence would not sway the election, emphasizing his popularity among citizens across party lines.

“How can I be scared? I’m too popular! Anywhere I go, people love me, and everybody says, ‘Imole.’ Even among APC members, I have friends. If you are performing, you don’t have to fear,” he added.

Adeleke also voiced optimism that President Bola Tinubu would allow a free and fair election in Osun.

Speaking on the screening process, Adebayo Adepoju, Chairman of the PDP Governorship Screening Committee, described the exercise as smooth and orderly. He confirmed that Adeleke’s credentials, including nominations from highly placed individuals and community members, were thoroughly vetted and found satisfactory.

“We went through all his forms and credentials, and everything matched what he had submitted.

The exercise was seamless, and we are expecting more aspirants to appear before the committee concludes its report,” Adepoju said.
