SDP candidate Adebayo alleges presidential interference in opposition parties ahead of the 2027 polls
Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has accused President Bola Tinubu of allegedly interfering in opposition party affairs ahead of the 2027 general election.

Adebayo made the allegation during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, where he addressed the ongoing internal crisis within the SDP.
He claimed that President Tinubu was behind the political tensions currently affecting the party, which has recently experienced factional disputes and leadership disagreements.
SDP candidate also referenced his alleged expulsion by a faction of the party, describing the situation as part of a wider pattern of interference in opposition politics.
According to him, the developments within the SDP mirror similar crises he believes have affected other political parties in the country.
“President Tinubu is the author of the so-called crisis in the SDP,” Adebayo said during the interview.
He further argued that the President should focus solely on his political party and avoid involvement in the affairs of others.
Adebayo also criticised what he described as attempts to dominate multiple political platforms, insisting that such actions undermine democratic principles.
He maintained that political leaders must respect party boundaries and allow internal party structures to function independently without external influence.
