Aggrieved APC aspirants in Ondo endorse Tinubu’s 2027 re-election and launch a grassroots mobilisation campaign to boost his chances.
AKURE, Nigeria, 27 November 2025 — A group of former political aspirants in the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, operating under the Aggrieved Aspirants Forum, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and launched a statewide grassroots campaign to support Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.

Announcing the decision at the forum’s quarterly meeting in Akure, the team leader, Taiwo Agunloye, said members had unanimously resolved to back the President following what they described as his ongoing reforms, stabilisation efforts and commitment to rebuilding national institutions. Agunloye added that the forum had also passed a vote of confidence in the administration, particularly on security management.
He said the coalition, made up of former aspirants for state and federal legislative seats, governorship primaries and local government elections, would deploy its political structures and community influence to take the President’s message of renewed hope to voters. Agunloye noted that many of the members still commanded strong followership in their constituencies, a factor he described as a powerful asset ahead of the next general election.
According to him, the group will roll out community engagements, ward-level sensitisation and targeted outreach programmes designed to restore public trust and counter misinformation.
He cited recent successful rescue operations involving kidnapped schoolchildren as an example of what he called a “positive shift” in the nation’s security landscape.
Despite their long-standing grievances over neglect during past election cycles, Agunloye said the forum’s renewed support was driven by public interest.
He pointed to what he claimed were improving security indicators, easing food prices and a stabilising exchange rate as signs of progress under the Tinubu administration.
He also praised the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for supporting the group and urged him to continue presenting their concerns at the federal level.
The lawmaker representing Akoko North-West Constituency I in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Tiamiyu Atere, assured members that government had not abandoned them.

He pledged to convey their grievances to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and push for greater inclusion in upcoming political appointments.
