Tinubu had been expected to depart Abuja on Wednesday for the twentieth G20 Summit of leaders in South Africa, before proceeding to Angola for the seventh AU EU Summit. However, fresh security breaches compelled him to halt the journey and refocus attention on the ongoing crises.
According to a statement, the President ordered security agencies to track down the bandits responsible for the violent assault on the Christ Apostolic Church congregation in Kwara. He also reaffirmed his directive to ensure the safe return of the twenty four abducted schoolgirls in Kebbi.
The President is awaiting a detailed briefing from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who visited Kebbi State on Tuesday to commiserate with the families of the abducted students.
Tinubu is also expecting operational updates from the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services regarding the Kwara attack.
