APC Lagos Opposition Criticism Backs Tinubu’s Decision

APC Lagos Opposition Criticism defends President Tinubu, saying Nigeria deserves responsible leadership over opposition’s bitterness-driven politics.

APC Lagos Opposition Criticism has sparked national conversation after the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against recent attacks from opposition figures, particularly former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

In a statement issued on Thursday by its Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, the APC said Nigeria deserves more responsible politics than the “infantile and bitterness-driven” rhetoric being promoted by some opposition leaders.

Oladejo was responding to Abubakar’s criticism of President Tinubu’s withdrawal of presidential pardons granted to certain ex-convicts, a move that has drawn mixed reactions across the political spectrum.

“Nigeria deserves better than desperation politics,” Oladejo said. “The Nigerian public is wary of this infantile, bitterness-driven politics – where sound governance decisions are attacked for the sake of noise-making.”

He described Tinubu’s decision as a sign of strength and institutional maturity, rather than weakness. “President Tinubu is strengthening institutions, not pandering to emotion or social media theatrics. While responsible leaders build, petty politicians rant,” he added.

The APC spokesman accused Atiku of playing to the gallery, saying leadership requires sober judgment and a commitment to the rule of law. “Unlike the impulsive and uninformed commentary that has become the trademark of the opposition, President Tinubu’s decisions are driven by due process, rule of law, and national interest,” Oladejo said.

He argued that in advanced democracies, policy reviews and reconsiderations are regarded as hallmarks of credible governance. “Only in the shallow corners of the opposition’s imagination does consultation and constitutional refinement translate to a U-turn,” he remarked.

Oladejo reaffirmed that President Tinubu would continue to lead “with constitutional discipline, courage, and clarity of purpose,” insisting that the administration would not descend into the “political bitterness and confusion” of its opponents.

“Nigeria is moving forward – and no amount of political tantrums will change that reality,” he concluded.
