In a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, the Commission’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, confirmed that the successful associations had completed all necessary submissions before the October 18 deadline.

Those cleared to proceed include the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA), Abundance Social Party (ASP), African Alliance Party (AAP), Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), Green Future Party (GFP), National Democratic Party (NDP), and Peoples Freedom Party (PFP).

Olumekun explained that the eight associations “successfully uploaded the required information on INEC’s dedicated portal” during the designated submission window from 18 September to 18 October 2025.

He added that the next phase would involve a comprehensive verification of each association’s documents to ensure compliance with the 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act 2022, and INEC’s Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties (2022).

“Following the briefing held for 14 pre-qualified associations on Tuesday, September 17, 2025, the Commission opened its dedicated portal for the upload of required documents. As of October 19, eight associations had successfully completed the process,” Olumekun stated.

He reaffirmed INEC’s “commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and the deepening of Nigeria’s democratic culture,” emphasising that the verification process would be conducted with fairness and accountability.
