Speaking during a strategic meeting in Abakaliki on Monday, Chief OkoroEmegha urged greater collaboration between the party leadership and National Assembly members representing the state. He praised their loyalty to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and their contributions to national politics.

“This meeting is not a coincidence. It reflects the importance of unity to the prosperity of our party. You have represented Ebonyi well, and we are proud,” the chairman said.

According to a statement by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Ogbuatu Simba, the meeting centred on appreciation for the lawmakers, acknowledgement of their loyalty to the governor, and a renewed call for increased support to the state party structure.

The chairman highlighted the symbolic strength their presence brings to the governor and urged them to help the party operationally. “This party belongs to all of us. Apart from the one bus donated by the Governor, we appeal for your support — especially with buses and other assistance — to help us run the party better,” he said.

Chief OkoroEmegha commended the lawmakers for maintaining a cordial relationship with Governor Nwifuru and fostering a united front within the state. He described the current political atmosphere as the most cohesive the state had witnessed in recent times.

Responding on behalf of the legislators, Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi (Ebonyi North), reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and its leadership.

“We are aware that whatever we are today, the party made us. Out of millions of Ebonyians, nine of us were chosen to serve. We can never take this platform for granted,” Nwaebonyi said.

He assured the party leadership of their continued cooperation and promised to explore ways to support the party’s operations in the state.
