Tinubu support group in Edo urges unity amid economic reforms

Tinubu suporpt group in Edo State urges Nigerians to back the President’s reforms, citing progress in GDP, infrastructure, and federal allocations.

Tinubu support group Edo State has called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he continues to implement sweeping reforms aimed at stabilising the economy and improving governance.

The call came in a statement on Tuesday from the state coordinator of the group, Emokpae Abel, who commended the President’s early efforts, including difficult decisions such as the removal of fuel subsidy shortly after assuming office in May 2024.

Fuel prices surged from ₦198 to over ₦800 per litre following the subsidy removal, triggering inflation and hardship for millions of citizens.

However, Abel argued that the move has significantly increased state allocations from the Federal Allocation and Account Committee (FAAC), allowing governors access to more funds for local development.

“We urge Nigerians to also hold their state governors accountable now that they receive more funding,” said Abel.

The Tinubu support group Edo State praised the administration’s gains in GDP growth, rising foreign reserves, and visible infrastructure development.

Abel insisted that the President’s policies, though tough, are laying the groundwork for long-term national progress.

“Tinubu’s economic reforms have shown promising results,” he said.

“If given more time, his government will introduce more human-driven initiatives that will provide real relief to Nigerian families.”

He acknowledged ongoing security concerns but urged a “collective effort” from citizens and all levels of government to support the President in securing lives and property.

Abel encouraged Nigerian youths, particularly in Edo State, to align with the group’s efforts to promote national unity and growth.

He suggested that grassroots involvement could motivate the government to implement targeted youth-oriented programmes.

While noting the widespread frustration with the rising cost of living, the group stressed that President Tinubu remains committed to turning the economy around and restoring hope.

Abel warned against early political scheming aimed at derailing the President’s re-election bid in 2027, stating that “gang-ups” and opposition would only disrupt the continuity needed to consolidate progress.

“Our mission is to build massive support for President Tinubu across all levels, from local councils to the national stage,” he concluded. “Continuity is key to delivering the full dividends of democracy.”
