Ayodele Fayose rejects APC offer from President Bola Tinubu, affirming his decision during a live appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

The former Ekiti State governor disclosed that President Tinubu once personally invited him to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), but he declined out of principle.
Fayose, known for his outspoken views, stated, “I recalled very well that the president asked that I should come to APC and I said no.”
Despite refusing the offer, Fayose praised Tinubu’s leadership, recalling frequent visits during his governorship and his open support even when Buhari was president.
He emphasized that his respect for Tinubu is longstanding and genuine.
“When your kinsman wants to be president and he has capacity, what should you do?” he asked rhetorically, defending his consistent political stance.

Fayose also clarified that his past involvement in the G-5 group and his current alignment are not about opportunism but grounded loyalty.
