Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has approved the appointment of 101 Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to support his administration across various sectors.
The appointments, announced on Monday in a public service announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, take immediate effect.
The new appointments comprise seven Special Advisers, six Senior Special Assistants and 88 Special Assistants.
The seven Special Advisers will oversee portfolios including conflict resolution and mediation, inter-governmental affairs, policy analysis, stakeholder and community relations, economic development, grassroots coordination, and commerce and business development.
Those appointed as Special Advisers are Chief S.N.C. Nwagu, Hon. Dr Fidelis Odo, Augustine Okoli, Hon. Pedro Nwankwo, Chimezie Nkwuo, Chief Vitalis Okonkwo and Peter Andy Omeje.
The six Senior Special Assistants were appointed to oversee film and creative industry development, inter-party affairs and mobilisation, party monitoring, legal and regulatory compliance, boundary and land dispute resolution, and small and medium enterprise development.
They are Rachael Okonkwo, Barr. Okey Ude, Hon. Chinedu Chukwunwike, Barr. Peter Chukwujekwu Ogbe, Chukwudi Ozoeluba and Frank Udemezue.
The largest group comprises 88 Special Assistants, with responsibilities spread across areas including security, environmental protection, health facility maintenance, market sanitation, road infrastructure, youth development, women mobilisation, public communication and grassroots engagement.
Other portfolios assigned to the Special Assistants include technology and innovation, digital innovation, civic education and voter awareness, project monitoring, social media, rural development, sports development, gender advocacy and inter-governmental affairs.
Among the appointees are Dr Okwoigwe Modestus Ndubuisi as Special Assistant on Health Facility Maintenance, Timothy Chukwuemeka Nnaji on Community Youth Engagement and Development, Chuma Dilibe on Technology and Innovation, Hon. Ikerionwu Eze on Digital Innovation, and Hon. Okwudili Onuora on Security Intelligence.
The appointments also cover several community-focused portfolios, including grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement, women mobilisation, town union matters, rural development and stakeholder engagement.
The state government’s official directory also maintains a listing of political appointees serving in various advisory and support roles across the administration.
The latest appointments expand the network of officials supporting the Mbah administration as it continues to assign responsibilities across economic, social, administrative and grassroots areas.
All 101 appointments take effect immediately, according to the government announcement.
