Atiku Abubakar made the remarks shortly after emerging as the ADC presidential flag bearer following the party’s primary election held in Abuja.
Speaking to journalists, the former vice president suggested that President Tinubu’s time in office was nearing its end and urged him to prepare for a return to Lagos.
“President Tinubu should better pack and go back to Lagos,” Atiku said.
He also congratulated fellow contestants in the ADC primary, describing the process as a demonstration of patriotism and commitment to national progress.
“I congratulate my fellow contestants for this ticket to represent our great party in the elections scheduled for early next year,” he added.
Atiku secured the party’s nomination after reportedly defeating Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen in the contest.
Party officials announced that he polled 1,846 votes, ahead of his closest rivals in the exercise.
However, both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen have rejected the outcome of the primary election, alleging irregularities in the process.
