Primate Ayodele Warns APC Collapse Over Tinubu Ticket

Primate Ayodele APC collapse warning issued over Tinubu-Shettima ticket, claiming political suicide ahead of 2027 elections

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, on Friday issued a stark warning that the Primate Ayodele APC collapse warning scenario could unfold if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima contest the 2027 presidential election on a joint ticket, describing the move as politically dangerous for the ruling party.

The cleric made the assertion in a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, arguing that a continuation of the Muslim-Muslim ticket would face widespread rejection across national and international political spaces.

Primate Ayodele stated that the proposed arrangement would amount to “political suicide” for the All Progressives Congress, insisting that it could significantly weaken the party’s chances of retaining power in the next general election.

According to him, the Primate Ayodele APC collapse warning reflects what he described as growing resistance that would emerge if the ticket is maintained.

He further claimed that such a decision would trigger opposition beyond conventional political actors, adding a heightened sense of inevitability to his prediction.

“It will be a political suicide for Tinubu and Shettima to be on the same ticket for the 2027 presidential election,” Primate Ayodele said.

He added that retaining the current pairing could mark “the end for the APC as a party,” warning that it would provoke strong opposition both within Nigeria and internationally, ultimately limiting the party’s electoral prospects.

The cleric also argued that the consequences of reversing the ticket could be equally challenging, stating that President Tinubu would face a difficult dilemma in deciding whether to retain or replace Vice President Shettima.

In his remarks, Primate Ayodele said the administration had already begun on what he termed a flawed foundation, referencing the decision to adopt a same faith ticket in the 2023 elections.

He described the situation as an “error” that would be difficult to correct, adding that the administration would continue to face mounting pressures as it progresses.

“The government is an error right from the moment they decided to do a Muslim-Muslim ticket, and it will be hard to correct,” he said.

Primate Ayodele further claimed that divine support for the administration was lacking, warning that the President may continue to encounter political and governance challenges unless intervention occurs.

Despite the strong language used, the presidency and the All Progressives Congress have not issued any official response to the remarks as of the time of filing this report.
