Abubakar Kyari is a Nigerian politician and technocrat currently serving as the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.
Born into a military-political family, his public service career began with roles as Commissioner for Water Resources, Education, Works, and Home Affairs in Borno State.
He represented Borno North Senatorial District from 2015 until his resignation in 2022 to become the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), briefly serving as acting national chairman in 2023.
As Minister, Kyari is driving critical agricultural reforms, focusing on food security through initiatives like dry-season farming, mechanization, and farmer registration under the “Renewed Hope Agenda.
