Imo ADC Reaffirms Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections

Imo ADC says it remains united and focused ahead of 2027 elections, reaffirming confidence in its leadership and structure

The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that it remains structurally intact, ideologically focused and firmly under capable leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The position was contained in a communiqué issued on Tuesday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Macdonald Amadi, following an Executive Committee meeting held in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The Imo ADC unity statement was released after deliberations aimed at strengthening internal cohesion and reviewing the party’s strategic direction ahead of the next electoral cycle.

According to the communiqué, the State Executive Committee convened the meeting to assess the current state of the party, reinforce unity and consolidate mobilisation plans across Imo State.

The committee dismissed suggestions of internal crisis, insisting that reports of fragmentation do not reflect the reality within the party structure.

It added that the meeting was held against the backdrop of recent political realignments, but reaffirmed the party’s commitment to disciplined and issue-based politics.

To strengthen its grassroots base, the committee resolved to intensify mobilisation across all 27 local government areas of the state, with a focus on expanding membership and civic participation.

The statement expressed confidence in the leadership of former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, and former Deputy Governor, Gerald Irona, describing their influence as stabilising and unifying.

The party also pledged loyalty to the national leadership of the ADC under Senator David Mark, noting alignment with the National Working Committee’s vision.
